SNAPP is run by and for their families. Our kid’s ages range from 5-10, but age is not the most important thing. Our goal is to find the right program for you and your kids.
SNAPP is designed for children living with Neuro Diversity.
We also incorporate and employ ASD teenagers to assist our children as mentors and junior coaching assistants, making SNAPP a holistic avenue of self-development for young people living with Autism.
Our costs vary from term to term and sport to sport – as each location and sport requires different levels of support and investment depending on the number of children involved and individual capacities.
Fixed costs include; venue hire, coach payments, registrations, insurance and uniforms, in addition to variable costs which are participant dependant and vary from site to site.
We do like to do our sporting programs on Saturdays and Sundays – as we have found that weekday programs can be very busy, with the clubs often running multiple NT programs at the same time.
These times can be a sensory overload for our children, so we prefer the weekends when the venues are often quieter and more suited to our needs.
Our programs will be priced from $380-420 per term and do not run during school holiday periods.
Please note – we are not currently NDIS Registered, though working on it, so you will need your NDIS Plan to be either Self-managed or Plan Managed to claim our programs
SNAPP programs are managed and run by parents of children with Autism, with support from our participant clubs coaches and administrators.
We follow this model because in our experience there is no better expert of autism that someone who has cared for autism 24/7.
It is the role of the Parent Coach to oversee the programs and ensure that it is suitable for our children’s needs.
The parent coach also has the experience and confidence to assist and train your child to give you some respite, if you prefer, though parent participation is certainly encouraged and highly appreciated.
We also consult regularly with our resident OT to ensure that we are incorporating as many therapy-focused actions and routines as we can into our fun and inclusive sessions.
While offering respite and socialising for parents, we do request you to stay within sight of their child and stand ready to help if required.
A SNAPP program can be started within any area or for any sport, so if you would like to help make an incredible difference with a new program in your area or sporting club – please let us know.
